"Excellent Colorectal Consultant Care"

After an initial disappointing visit to Colorectal department where I met a disinterested locum consultant who left me feeling frustrated and angry and caused a delay in my treatment. The lesson here is to look at the whole picture, hear what the patient has to say and NOT rely solely on MRI results which don't always pick up the problem and in my case was wrong. I was then re-referred and seen by an excellent Consultant who reviewed my notes thoroughly and took action to get to the cause of my year long problem. He swiftly arranged MRI and colonoscopy appointments to determine next steps in finding a resolution and has restored my faith in this department and I feel secure in the knowledge that he will soon be able to resolve the problem.

Such a troubled visit mixed with a roller coaster ride of emotion. It is such a disappointment and so disheartening to come up against uninterested human beings that should absolutely know better if working for the NHS. Thank goodness for the staff that make us all extremely proud of our organisation by going that extra mile and pulling out all the stops. Thank goodness your faith has been restored and thank you kindly for sharing your thoughts.
