"Waiting for appointment "

I suffer from arthritis, and up to last year I was able to get a steroid injection, that really eased my pain. My last appointment was cancelled in March 2020. Since then I have been trying to get an appointment, also I was told that when they next have a clinic my name would be on it and I would be informed. I spoke to a doctor in March who told me my name would be on the list, but I’m still waiting. One of the occasions I rang I was told that the practice did expect patients to take some responsibility for their own health!! I have been trying to do this especially over the last year. I also took responsibility in asking for an annual blood test, I had a heart attack when I was in my 50s, and had regular annual blood tests ! which used to be the norm. I have been with this practice for over 40 years, and never been treated like this. I was hoping that as we gradually come out of lockdown things might be better, I will have to continue taking strong painkillers, which just take the edge off it.
