"New registration"

About: Haxby Group Practice

Why accept a new registration if you cannot be bothered to ask if there an urgent need and cannot find the time to do a quick assessment over the phone until three weeks later when the patient is feeling abandoned ? If you need the extra £150 funding you need to do a lot better.

Dear Mr Spurr, I am sorry you are unhappy about the service you received when requesting an appointment on registration with the practice. The current demand for GP appointments across all practices in the UK is very high and at Haxby Group we prioritise care based on need not demand. Where resources are in short supply decisions have to be made regarding access. Our GPs triage all requests for urgent appointments and prioritise them accordingly. We are not alone in having to take this course of action at the moment. GPs are dealing with more patients now than pre-pandemic and our call volumes are also significantly higher. If you would like to discuss this further with me please contact me on 01904 928008. Julie Lund, General Manager
