"Visits from home recovery"

About: Recovery at Home - Leechmere Sunderland Royal Hospital / General medicine Sunderland Royal Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I had a respiratory arrest due to a reaction from medication . I was in ICU in an induced coma for 8 days on a ventilator. On returning home I had several episodes of pneumonia , chest infections and developed severe asthma.

Recovery at home visited me several times and gave me antibiotics, steroids , nebuliser, etc

this was during the peak of the covid 19 pandemic. I could ring them anytime 24/7 and they would come straight to my home . This made me feel so much better as I knew someone was there for me. I was feeling really anxious during my recovery and they were only a phone call away , nothing was too much trouble for them . I can honestly say they were life savers
