"Excellent follow up"

About: Adult Community Services / Continence Team The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department The Ulster Hospital / General Surgery (Ward 3D)

(as a service user),

I had been on a waiting list for Hernia Surgery, but had to be rushed to A/E at Ulster Hosp. for emergency surgery for a strangulated Hernia. The result was not satisfactory and I had further emergency surgery in the same week from which my family was told I may not survive. I had excellent aftercare. The food was very poor and some of the communication was difficult and could have been better.

The follow up care was excellent - the carers - particularly Amanda and Lisa gave very good advice and help. The Stoma nursing team at the Ulster Hospital were also excellent, as were the continence team - (Kay and Janice) from the Holyrood Arches Centre.

Overall I was satisfied with the care I received.
