"The telephone & online booking system has become…"

About: Garforth Medical Centre

Why when you are number1 in the queuing system does it takes 20 minutes for the call to be answered? The answering system suggests booking on line but there are no appointments available. Yet when in the waiting room you can see the reception phone rarely rings. The only way is to to be in person when the reception opens!

That is of course if you are capable getting there. Is this supposed to be a stress free system? This is not a one-off, it has now happened on every occasion we try to make an appointment. Not everything can be blamed on Covid.

Thank you for your comments.

As a Practice we are committed to providing the best possible service to our patients. Over the past month we have seen the number of calls to the Practice increase by approximately 20%. This is in line with both the city and the picture nationwide. We are all working hard to try and reduce the wait times on the telephone.

All telephone calls are answered in our administration building which is a separate building to Garforth Medical Centre which will be why, when you visit the Practice you are not aware of the telephone ringing.

Should you wish to discuss the matter further please contact me at Garforth Medical Centre.

Lisa Carroll

Practice Manager
