This week my nephew was in pain with suspected cellulitis. After holding on the phone for considerable time he was driven to the practice to try and see a Dr or nurse he was told no appointments were being made a Dr would ring next day. Shortly after the pain increased and it was decided to go to Wolverhampton walk in centre which has been accessible throughout the pandemic. Quute serious Cellulitis was confirmed and antibiotics given and told to contact Dr if no improvement. After 3 days the condition appeared to be worse so again tried to see someone at the practice. After receptionist spike to someone she came back and all that was said was to to a&e. This is a waste of hospital resources at the moment Again a call was made to the walk in centre would said to go straight there for assessment and treatment, which we did again first class treatment from them
Surely sending people to a&e is causing unnecessary pressure when we have GPs in a state of the art practice who could be dealing with patients. I understand that covid is still around, however with a decrease in infections could the practice not be operating more normally.
