"Discharged without telling me"

About: Furness General Hospital

I've had a cataract for over a year where I'm unable to see out of one of my eyes. I had an eye appointment at Lancaster hospital seven months ago where I was put on the cataract op waiting list. I have just found out by chance whilst phoning Furness Eye Department for an update that I have been discharged and that I need to get myself re referred due to a diabetes issue. I am despondent with my health and the poor levels of communication and medical support. Not being able to see out of one eye isn't good is it...I give up.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you have experienced a lack of communication regarding your treatment at our hospital. We're keen to learn more and respond directly to you, so would appreciate it if you could contact our Patient Relations team on 01539 716621 to allow us to carry out that work. Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon.
