"Don't bother if you're an NHS patient"

About: Bath Clinic

My referral here was an absolute waste of time and I'm really upset by the whole thing. I was referred by my GP in March and had a choice of 3 different clinics. I chose BMI despite the fact I couldn't book an appointment online, because they were listing much shorter average times to start treatment. On calling the clinic I was told confidently that I 'would be seen in April'.

At first I was told it would just be a week or so before I was given an appointment date. Weeks passed, and nothing. I called the clinic a couple more times but it became clear that there was nothing the receptionists could do - the urologist simply hadn't booked a clinic for NHS patients nor told them when he might book one. I'm writing this in May, nearly two months after my referral date, still not having been told when my appointment would be or even given a rough estimate. I've decided to switch to one of the other available clinics. It's really hard being ill for months without a diagnosis and feeling like you've been forgotten by the people who are supposed to help. I could not recommend this practice to anyone.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am sorry to hear of your experience and that you felt forgotten. Unfortunately there has been an unavoidable delay with the NHS list. I would welcome an opportunity to discuss this with you if you would like to contact me. Please accept our best wishes for your recovery. Kind regards, Sandra (01225 835555)
