"Care received at ARI"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I collapsed at work and an ambulance was called. Two lovely guys Nick and Johnny attended. I felt very bewildered and embarrassed, but they put me at ease and even managed to make me laugh (no easy feat as I felt pretty horrible). They took me to A& E at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and was transferred to the care of Libby and a Doctor called Dennis. Again they were both so kind. I was kept informed the whole way through of the tests and what was happening. There was also a lady who’s name I think was Pamela, (sorry if this wasn’t your name) she took my obs, gave me a pair of socks (shoes left at work! ) and also escorted me to the toilet. She was chatty and friendly and helped me to relax. Genuinely there was just nothing that I could point out to be improved with any of the dealings I had with any of these hard-working people. You are all a credit to your profession and I send a sincere Thank you to you all.

Dear DJS72!,

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch through Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear of you falling unwell whilst at work recently. This must have been a worrying experience for you and those around you.

It is great to hear about the care you received from Nick and Johnny and in particular how they made you feel at ease at a very difficult time. (humour always helps, but knowing the timing to use it is a skill indeed!)

I hope you have made a full recovery.

I would like to ensure that your feedback is shared with Nick and Johnny. To allow us to identify the incident on our system, can I ask you please to call our admin team on 01224 812200 to pass on some further information?

Thank you again for getting in touch.

Take care.

Euan..
