About: Douglas Street Community Health Clinic

(as a service user),

I had to take my son to out of hours today at Douglas street Hamilton. My son is autistic & had croup, however due to covid I had to bring him to be seen just incase. We seen a Dr Coates, and I can honestly say I wish he was my local GP. He signed Makaton with my son the whole way through the appointment and really took the time to listen to me & my partner about what was going on for my son because he couldn’t communicate this himself. I was really pleased and grateful that there are doctors like him around. Thank you again.

Dear julygr43

Thanks very much for posting on Care Opinion. It is great to read that you had a very positive experience when you required to attend the Douglas Street Community health centre with your son. It certainly sounds as though Dr Coates was able to communicate very effectively with your son and you during the consultation and I am sure this was very reassuring for you, as a worried patient. I will be more than happy to share your lovely post with Dr Coates. Thanks again for sharing.

I hope that your son is now feeling better.

Kind regards.

Lesley
