"Positive GP appointment"

(as a service user),

I am a health care professional who had been experiencing a medical symptom for a while. It took me some time to pluck up the courage to make GP appointment and admit my medical problem. On my telephone triage by the GP, I was able to talk both freely as a health professional and as a patient. He put me at ease, asked open ended questions, gave suggestions and confirmed my symptoms were real with possible reasons as to why they were happening. A follow up face to face appointment was booked to preform examination and blood tests. Examination revealed another medical problem(!) where medication  and life style changes was advised.

All in all my experience was positive, gave me the confidence to speak openly about recent events and made me feel valued.

Thank yu very much for sharing your feedback with me following your telephone triage appointment with your GP. Please can l apologise for the delay with my response.

I was really pleased to read that you were able to have a good conversation with them as both a health professional and as a patient. I am sure that you will have been reassured by your follow up appointment which was then made available for you at the Practice.

The majority of GPs are independent contractors and l would you encourage to to contact the Practice Manager directly as I am sure they will be delighted to hear your lovely feedback.
