About: Mendip Vale Medical Practice

Used e-consult and had appointment booked with physio 14th May

No choice offered, didn’t know I could see physio or if this was a chargeable service they had booked me in with.

Was a telephone appointment which I find difficult but was willing to try. By 1200 no contact so phoned surgery (took 15 mins)

I was told my appointment was 21st May, asked why they emailed me with 14th May, then was told the physio was unwell- fair enough but would have been nice to be contacted to arrange new date rather than them booking one I can’t make. Struggled to rebook, have now had to take appointment prior to working nights, not ideal, I asked re telephone appointments and told that it has to be telephone first and then ‘they will decide ‘ if you need to be seen face to face- feel like I don’t matter to them at all and am just another number on a conveyor belt, really disappointed , no wonder people go to A&e.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you do not feel that we have met your expectations on this occasion. During the Covid pandemic, to minimise the risk for patients and staff, some appointments have initially been via telephone; with the clinicians working with patients to ascertain whether the patient can be supported by telephone or whether a face-to-face appointment is required. If you would like to discuss your individual case, our surgery manager at your normal site would be happy to support you. Please telephone 01934 839820 or email mendipvale.scanners@nhs.net
