"Misinformation"

About: Honeypot Medical Centre

Just over a week ago a Pharmacist from the surgery call to communicate blood test results and advised me that my cholesterol levels were high and that I needed review my lifestyle to reduce to an acceptable level. There was no discussion or review date. A week later when speaking to a nurse I found out that the information given was incorrect and that the levels were normal. I advised nurse that I had a week of anxiety due to the misinformation. The nurse apologised and said she will advise the Pharmacist. Very unhappy about the incorrect information and the stress caused. The practices website does not lend itself to clearly making a complaint directly to the surgery.

Dear Dipti Shah-Young,

I am very sorry for the experience you had regarding receiving your blood test results. I believe that the pharmacist has now spoken to you and apologised herself for not communicating clearly the interpretation of your cholesterol results. This has been a learning experience for her, and we thank you for raising it.

We do have access to the suggestions and complaints procedure on our website, but we will review the website to make this more accessible.

If you wish to discuss this matter further, please not hesitate to contact me at the practice.

Kind regards, Practice Manager
