"Poor facilities to cancel appintment "

About: Riverlyn Medical Centre

I had an appointment with the nurse at 545pm and the practice closed at lunch time for the whole afternoon for staff training.

I really wanted to cancel my appointment to let someone else have it but the phones are off and no other way to cancel.

The nurse repeatedly text to say if no longer needed please cancel , but there is no reply to the text either.

This was frustrating as i would of liked to given the appointment to someone else !!

Thank you for providing this information, we're sorry you were not able to cancel the appointment. We are grateful that you wished to inform us of cancelling your appointment yesterday, so that someone else could use that appointment. As we were aware you won’t be able to cancel the appointment, the nurse tried to contact you twice at 1340hrs and 1704hrs to check whether you will be able to attend the appointment.

For the future, we wish to inform you of an Online Access service via the NHS App. This is a very useful tool which allows patients to book and cancel appointments directly without having to call the GP. In addition, it allows the patient access to order their repeat prescriptions; thus allowing more flexibility for the patient. If you wish to get ONLINE Access, kindly contact the surgery as the Reception staff will be able to help you with this.
