A little poem of thanks for the surgical team the staff in recovery,ITU,and Ward 10 for caring for me during my recent iliac vascular surgery. Thursday May 6th 2021.
I arrived Thursday morning at seven.
Was asleep soon after nine and in heaven.
The surgical team I have no doubt.
Set straight to work while I was out.
They worked so professionally on my blood lines.
And have given me the chance of some extra family times.
I came round looking at a wonderful smiling face.
It made me feel great and not out of place.
From the recovery team I was moved to ITU.
Just a short bed ride to another wonderful crew.
I was finally moved to Ward 10 on Friday
Were they removed my tubes and gave me a tidy
The team got me up and walking about.
They were so professional in getting me ready to go out.
On Saturday I was ready for out at just gone three.
But my tablets seamed to take an eternity.
They eventually arrived in a pile.
And it all ended in a really big smile.
From a man who’s so grateful for your professional care and help. From surgeons, doctors, nurses to utility workers, you should all be very proud of what you do and achieve for us. God bless and save our NHS.
Tony Ansell the 75 year old fireman with the curly long grey hair
