"I can't thank you all enough"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / General Medicine NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

I have had 2 hospital visits in the past week firstly coming through A and E via 111, the 111 service was fantastic and the girl I spoke to was very kind, at A and E I was seen by a Dr Christopher, I didn’t catch his surname who was very attentive, thorough and reassuring and I would like to thank him for then referring me to the DVT service where I was seen by the ANP Elaine who was fantastic and explained everything to me extremely well  and a plan was plan was put in place.

My condition worsened slightly over the next few days and I called the DVT service who immediately asked me to go see them, this time I was seen by Colin the ANP who again was fantastic, very thorough and explained everything to me in a way I could understand, any other investigations were carried out quickly and everyone I came across were nothing but kind to me, including the Dr’s and Nursing Auxilliary’s at the X-ray/scanning department, the Porter and to the very last person I saw who was the pharmacist.

They now have a good treatment plan in place for me and I can’t thank you all enough. We are so privileged to have an NHS service and the people who looked after me are  a credit to the service.

Dear Thankful1515,

Thank you for sharing your story with us on Care Opinion. I was sorry to read that you had been so unwell, however I am pleased to learn that you were happy with the care you received from NHS 24 and the team at NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

It sounds like this would have been a very stressful experience for you and I was glad to read that you had been well supported throughout.

Feedback like yours means a great deal to our staff. In order to help me identify the staff involved in your care, it would be great if you could contact me with more detail. This would enable me to share your feedback with the staff who managed your call. You can contact me directly at patient.experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

I hope you are now recovering well. Thank you again for sharing your feedback with us.

Best wishes,

Andrew
