"Appalling "

About: Wokingham Medical Centre

I registered with this practice a week ago having moved from london. I am 37 and tech savvy. I’ve been unwell for over a week and have chronic asthma so, as always instructed by my previous gp, I attempted to book an appointment due to my peak flow reducing. I tried calling all day but kept being cut off. I tried to book online but this in disabled without an explanation. I resorted to using a social media app for help on how to make an appointment a d a fellow patient instructed me to use econsult. Which I did - I got a quick response telling me I have a viral infection and take paracetamol.... yes, I know that. I wanted advice on how to manage my asthma with reduced peak flow but with no way of speaking to a human being it’s impossible. I cannot manage a chronic condition in this way so I’ve registered with another surgery. Covid-19 pandemic cannot be blamed as my previous surgery in London maintained an excellent service where I could always have a say same telephone consultation with a gp as they appreciate asthma can deteriorate quickly.

I am a nurse and I am ashamed of this surgery. Absolutely poor quality.
