My elderly mother attended today, nurse was not happy and asked GP to have a look at her legs. A GP arrived and made a diagnosis from at least a 10 foot distance, and then informed my mother who is in her 80 ‘s that she needs to have her legs raised higher than her chest. The GP informed my mum to take some pills that had been prescribed previously, which caused my mum more problems than she started with, then left the surgery.
Why are GP’ s unavailable? The nurses do an amazing job and they must be so frustrated with the seeming lack of GP’s and the lack of empathy when a GP makes a rare appearance, why could this GP examine my mum properly wearing PPE as nurses, carers etc wear.
I understand GP’s are assisting with COVID vaccinations and therefore cannot understand why this GP could not cover the distance and examine my mum closer and give her some care.
"Shocking"
