"Vaccine centre was closed"

About: NHS Grampian / COVID-19 Vaccination Service

(as a service user),

I turned up to find that the vaccine centre was closed. There was a council member of staff who was doing their best to help and was, frankly, put in a bad position having to field complaints and deal with the mess. Mistakes happen, but it would have been so easy to contact those scheduled for the day and let them know about the change of dates. I'm disappointed as I am now trying to re-schedule my vaccine and juggle work committments because of an error that should have been spotted far earlier.

Dear Empathymk73,

Thanks for sharing this with us and for recognising that mistakes do happen. I am sorry this happened at all and understand it has caused disappointment. I know it's not easy trying to schedule an appointment and fit in time off work to attend all over again.

Hello Kirsten,

Thanks for your response. I'm not sure if it's a centre issue, or an NHS-wide one: it was Bank Holiday Monday (03 May) and the centre was Stonehaven Leisure Centre. I chose to re-schedule my original appointment to that day as the appointment was available and it wouldn't impact on work.

I've now had my first vaccination and the process went very smoothly. (I'll write a positive post later).
