On the birth of my second baby my baby boy. I asked the staff present if he had a tongue tie. (my other child also has one). I was told he did not. However I wasn't convinced as I was sure I could see one. After having issues with feeding and working hard on our latch I then asked my health visitor if she thought he had a tongue tie and she agreed with me that he did. She then put a referral in and I heard nothing. By this point my son was 5 weeks old he had dropped percentiles and it was causing me pain and oversupply and engorgment. I was then told I had to speak to a GP to get a referral which I have and have still heard nothing about getting this divided. My son is now approaching 10 weeks old and find this very frustrating. I fed my other child exclusively breast milk until 18 months old I am experienced in both breastfeeding and tongue ties and know my son. All I want it for someone to look at is and make the decision to divide it.
