My daughter had an endoscopy beginning of March and was told she would get her results in 7-14 days. She didn't. She eventually got a call telling her she would be contacted by phone at 9am mid-way through April. She missed this call. No message was left and there was no further attempt by anyone to call her back. She spent all day trying to speak to someone about her results, she failed, constantly being cut off after about 3 minutes. She finally got through to Gastroenterology who gave her the number for the relevant secretary who told her that she would be called back. She wasn't. She has tried calling again this morning. Several times she was in a telephone queue and while in that queue got cut off. She eventually got through and was being told that a letter would be sent out then she was cut off again. She is waiting for a diagnosis of possible Coeliac Disease , she suffers from Anxiety and she has had a previous bad experience of the hospital when in January 2020 she was sent home from A&E and told to take some pain killers despite presenting herself having fallen from a height of around 7 feet onto her back - which was later found to be fractured. She just needs a quick phone call to let her know the results of the endoscopy. How can one attempt at a phone call and no message or indication of what will happen next be viewed as acceptable especially when trying to contact the hospital is made so incredibly difficult? My daughter is feeling incredibly upset, frustrated and angry and has no idea what she should do next. This was the only way I could think of to try and get some answers for her, so I look forward to receiving a response.
