I recently went in for an operation at the Central Middlesex hospital and I can honestly say that it is the best care I have ever received in a hospital.
I have had similar procedures in the past 6 years and in different hospitals across the country as I suffer from Crohn’s disease, but I have never felt so cared for.
The nurses Marnie and Charlotte looked after me throughout the day making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed going back home.
The anaesthetist and his supervisor (Sorry if I forgot the names, William I think?) made sure I felt ok as I have previously had some bad experiences with the procedure . They did such a good job that I did not even have the opportunity to do the countdown! And they even checked on me after the operation.
The nurse that looks after me (Ana ?) when I woke up was also fantastic, she plugged in a heated blanket as I was shaking which really helped me relax and ensured I had enough painkillers.
The surgeon who works for Mr Tozer(I am so very lucky to have been assigned to his care/ team), came to see me as soon as I was back in the ward and explained what had happened and gave me clear next steps and after care and ensured I had a sick note for work( which did not contain the full details of the op, and as it is of a colorectal nature this was also very much appreciated).
I was discharged at 1630 with everything I needed which was great for us as we had a 3 hour car journey to go back home.
And finally I even had a call the day after, at home from nurse Linda who wanted to make sure I felt ok and asked if I had any last minute questions.
These might seem like details to some but it really made a difference overall about how I felt.
I hope that this message of thank you will be relayed to them as their team effort really made a positive impact on my experience and brought me hope to better days.
"Great care"
