"Clinical Assessment Unit"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as a relative),

My mother spent last two days of her life in this unit. She was in the assessment part the first night and then the yellow zone. The staff from doctors, nurses and porters etc were all lovely to my mother, the showed professionalism, care and compassion. The enviroment was welcoming and being able to look out to a courtyard was lovely. The staff were all professional and compassionate when communicating with us, her family, I cannot praise the excellent care enough.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the kind words of appreciation that you have said with regards to the care compassion and professionalism given by my staff to your late mother in her final days. I would like to also take this opportunity to pass on my condolences to you and the rest of your family at this difficult time. It always touches me when families take the time to thank us in this way especially when they themselves are going through a difficult time in the loss of that special family member.

Gordon Elliott.

Clinical Lead,

CAU.
