From start to finish the care I received whilst under maternity at VHK was outstanding. I was seen at maternity assessment several times throughout my pregnancy and each time received excellent care. I ended up having an induction and the midwives and support workers in the induction suite were fantastic.
During labour there were many people involved in my care. In particular Saskia the midwife and Alastair the anaesthetist were great and very reassuring throughout the whole experience. I had to have an emergency c-section and I can honestly say it was a good experience due to the professionalism of the staff.
Whilst on the maternity ward both myself and my husband were so well looked after by the staff. The ward was extremely busy but we never felt that impacted our care and we were not under pressure to be discharged. The staff were extremely supportive of me staying an extra night to have more help with breastfeeding which I was so grateful for. The midwives, support workers and nursery nurses were all extremely professional and so caring. In particular midwife Ellis and nursery nurse Claire were fantastic. We really felt so well looked after.
Once I was home from hospital I received a lot of support from the breastfeeding support workers. Gillian has been absolutely amazing, so caring and supportive and a credit to the service. I cannot believe how well supported we have been.
The care I have received has been outstanding and I am so grateful for the whole experience of bringing my baby daughter into the world. Thank you NHS Fife.
"So grateful for the whole experience"
