I’m coeliac but also vegetarian. I was in hospital for 3 days in 2020, and was served a free from meal for lunch and dinner as there were no suitable options on the normal menu. Each time, the only gluten free vegetarian option was butter bean stew/casserole/hot pot. Taste was non-existent and it wasn’t nutritious or varied as I was served it for all meals except breakfast.
Fast forward to being admitted to hospital yesterday. Butter bean stew for dinner and lunch today. The nightmare continues. And this is in a gastro ward. Please, please whoever is in charge of this - provide some variety (maybe use lentils instead of butter beans?!) and give people more than one choice. Also if the meals tasted good, that would be a bonus! PLEASE fix this! It shouldn’t be hard.
Thank you
