"Attended A&E after afall"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

I attended A&E after going to johnsons minor injuries. After having an X-ray at pilgrims the two nurses said I had a bad break in my hand. I didn’t want plaster cast on as I was due to have surgery this month but the nursing manager insisted that if I didn’t it would affect my mobility. So had it on. Then on the 8th April I went to the fracture clinic to be told the only thing wrong with my hand was arthritis. How can they get it so wrong. After having the cast on I had to cancel my surgery. But after having the cast off I managed to get my date back. I would never go back to pilgrims they have made to many mistakes one in 2017 and the other in July 2020.

I am sorry that you were disappointed with your experience in the Pilgrim Hospital Emergency Department when you attended. I can assure you that I will raise this issue with my team and while I cannot alter your experience, I can ensure that our staff learn from it.

Kind Regards
