My loved one suffered a stroke and was admitted to the Shand ward. After one week I requested a visit but they were not allowed. Upon further enquiry, I was informed that a virtual visit could be arranged and this was promptly facilitated. In the interest of patient care, it was brief. Definitely, this is important for wellbeing and rehabilitation. I would like to commend the Shand ward and its administration for thinking not only of the medical needs of patients but their holistic health-mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being. Its also good for the family.
