I am receiving Chemotherapy after a 70% Liver Resection to remove a cancerous tumour which came from the bowel and has decided to land on my both my lungs.
I was referred to the District Nursing Team from Hillsborough Clinic which started in November 2020 for 6 months. The team led by Sister Donna has been very inspirational and positive, complete with the attitude we don’t do negative, which is what I really needed. It has given me the a positive outlook and we also have a bit of craic with each visit.
The contact support is excellent as the chemotherapy can be unpredictable and doesn’t always behave the way it’s expected which means the nurses are always flexible with the visits. So a big thanks to Donna, Ruth, Kim, Janette, Emma and everyone involved.
I should also say that care given by staff at the McDermott Ward at the Ulster Hospital has been excellent and compassionate and I can’t thank them enough for all their help.
I have always adopted the attitude that, please don’t give up on me as I certainly won’t give up.
"Excellent support for cancer surgery and chemotherapy"
