"Please change hold music!"

About: Parkfields Surgery

Practice is getting better, and trying very hard during covid, but I’m always on hold for a long time, the hold music is awful, it sounds as if im in a wind tunnel and is just a bunch of blown out noise, its not what you want to be listening to on repeat when youre feeling unwell. Once you get through the receptionist is normally lovely and helpful.

Although there has been 2 times now where ive been to the practice and ive been asked to do a urine sample but theyve asked me to do it and said that to me whilst i was in the waiting room, infront of other people. It is rather uncomfortable and I would prefer to be asked in private.

Dear Patient

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to give your feedback.

I can confirm we are looking to update our telephone messages, especially the music.

Your comments around being asked for a sample in front of other patients is understandable. I confirm this will be used as an example in our next Practice Learning Time for the reception team to be more discrete and to remember to respect our patients privacy and dignity.

Thank you for your kind comment "once you get through the receptionist is normally lovely and helpful" it is very much appreciated.

Please be assured we take all comments both positive and negative seriously and use them to improve our service.

Julie Sampson

Patient Liaison and Communication Manager
