I was brought in by ambulance on Easter Sunday following an attack of dizziness, following a similar attack the previous week. Various tests were done in the admission area and then a CT scan, after which I was admitted overnight to Haldane Ward. My experience throughout was very good. The atmosphere was calm and the staff caring and cheerful.
One thing which did strike me was how calm the atmosphere on the ward was, enabling me to relax and rest. There was a degree of disturbance from patients who were clearly confused, but that is not under either their control or that of the staff. Previous experience of visiting others in hospital has sometimes been that visiting times can sometimes be quite chaotic, so I was fortunate to be admitted at a time when visiting was not allowed - I am 81, and old enough to remember when visiting times were very limited and hospital wards were generally calmer places.
I had heard less than complimentary opinions of treatment at Northwick Park Hospital, but could not fault my experience there.
"Good experience"
