About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My mum was recently taken in for emergency surgery at Treliske Hospital in Truro, Cornwall. The surgery my mum required was life saving and there was no delay in getting her the treatment she needed as quickly as possible. The nurses who cared for my mum were also brilliant and my heartfelt thanks goes out to each and every person who was involved in her care which is taking place in difficult times. Some in my family are thanking God for saving my mum but it wasn't any divine being - it was surgeons, consultants, nurses, porters, cleaners and the whole team of wonderful people doing this day in and day out.
I wish the government would reward you all properly for service but please know that you looked after the glue that holds my family together and helped give her back to us as healthily as possible.

Many Thanks for your very kind post regarding your mum's recent admission to Treliske hospital.

I cannot tell if she came via the Emergency department from your post, but regardless, I am really pleased that she got the correct care and treatment from whatever teams looked after her.

Comments from people like yourself are truly appreciated in these difficult times and we also appreciate how incredibly hard and worrying it is for both patients and relatives alike to have to go through these experiences alone. We do our best to not only treat patients conditions but also to be there for them when we can. It is not like having family around but we hope it is a small comfort.

As you say it is a whole team effort that goes into looking after patients and I am so glad that it all worked out well for your mum and that she is on the mend.
