I attended yesterday for a cataract operation at RBH. From start to finish the medical and nursing care I received was fantastic. All of the nurses I met were friendly & reassuring; I was given a good explanation of what to expect; the surgeon was of course extremely capable & professional, but also empathetic & kind. The nurse escorting me to theatre stroked my arm as I waited to be wheeled in; you’ve no idea how comforting that physical contact is!
The op went smoothly, I was told the result immediately afterwards.
After time to rest, I was discharged with full info & advice on aftercare at home.
I felt safe and reassured that all the social distancing precautions are in place. This was my 2nd eye op at RBH; each time I’ve had excellent treatment and care. Thank you so much to all of the clinical and support staff.
"Fantastic care"
