I tore a bicep distal tendon in October 2020. I attended Ealing Hospital for scans and we agreed that it would need urgent surgery as waiting too long would make repair more difficult. I completed a pre-assessment questionnaire over the phone at the beginning of December 2020 and awaited a confirmation date for surgery at the Central Middlesex Hospital - which I expected would happen within weeks.
Then we had another wave of covid so it seemed understandable that this would be delayed. I understand the pressures that the NHS has faced so have been very patient.
The orthopedics department have not been answering their phones since then. I finally managed to speak to someone today - a receptionist I think at Northwick Park - who told me that my records show me as having been discharged in early December! This is absolutely outrageous! I have received absolutely no communication regarding this and would not have known had I not made many failed calls before eventually finding out through a 'back door' channel.
I feel very upset, disgusted, outraged and betrayed over this.
"Discharged early before anticipated surgery"
