(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was diagnosed with pulmonary stenosis at a few weeks old. Dr Smith at the Hospital for Children was kind and compassionate at the time.

We have just had our 1 year review, and he showed just the same care and compassion and reassurance. I really appreciated the support, especially when only one parent is allowed in, it can be very overwhelming.

Dear Mummyof2andwife,

What an absolutely lovely message to have sent, thank you so much.

I can only imagine what a worrying time that must have been for you, your husband and family at the time of diagnosis, and it is heart-warming to know that Dr Smith showed kindness and compassion in supporting you.

As you note, right now it can be so overwhelming for our parents, particularly when their wee one is unwell, and I'm glad Dr Smith was able to extend the same warm care as he did previously. It's my pleasure to let you know that our Senior Management team will take this opportunity to also personally thank Dr Smith for his empathy, when we forward your comments to him. We're proud of him!

We enormously appreciate that you have trusted us with the care of your little girl, and we send our very best wishes to her, in the hope that she continues to go from strength to strength. We will always be here for her, and you, if you need us.

Receiving such warm feedback really does boost our team and we are so thankful to you for taking the time to write to us.
