"Unable to contact department"

About: St John's Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

I was booked for an echocardiogram at St John's Hospital, Livingston in March 2021. As a result of having to self isolate, I was unable to attend. After being contact traced at midday on the day before the appointment, I tried that entire afternoon, early evening and the following morning to call the department at SJH to cancel, however even after ringing almost repeatedly to make staff aware, the number simply rang out unanswered, even after going through the switchboard on occasions. I have now not been given a new appointment, but advised to recontact the department...... on the number that remained unanswered when I tried to contact them last time!

I am sorry to read that you have had difficulty contacting the Cardiology Dept at St John's initally to cancel and then to reschedule your appointment as you were unable to attend as you needed to self isolate.

I have included the telephone number for St John's Hospital (01506 523000) main switchboard and hopefully they can put you through to the team to allow you to reschedule your appointment.
