"Poor practice"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute)

Blood Taking Dept

1st attempt unsuccessful, that I accept happens, but tournique was tied, pinched skin, but more annoying, Phlebotomist forgot to unfasten tourniquet before needle removal.... I pointed out to nurse.

2nd attempt, again pinched skin as tournique tied not buttoned, quite discomforting while blood removal into specimen bottle, again nurse forgot to unfasten tournique. Result:bulbous lump and plenty of bruising.

I am very used to blood tests and have no anxiety regarding procedure.

After working for the NHS, as a trained member of staff for many years, I was very disappointed.
