About: Haworth Medical Practice

Did e consult and as I am currently working in the nhs understand the pressures related to COVID, however I followed the process of the e consult requesting I be referred for a steroid injection as advised by the gp in my last telephone contact with the practice, to be told I had been referred to a physio and have to wait almost x2 weeks for this call, this is unacceptable, I have waited over a year in continued pain working for the nhs trying to prevent myself from going off sick at a time of national need and now things are returning to a new normal expect that a gp can follow the instructions requested in my e consult or at the very least ring me to discuss a treatment plan, bearing in mind my consultant advised against physio due to extensive previous bruising caused by them. I feel this is just delaying treatment there has been no discussion in relation to pain relief, no discussion regarding activities of daily living and no consideration relating to this now being a bilateral problem or offering x-rays to identify if any deterioration. As a qualified clinical practitioner myself I understand current pressures and am aware of the importance of referrals, resources etc however with a system currently under extreme pressure I would have thought it important I stay at work rather than the need to go off sick due to my restrictions and waiting nearly x2 wks to speak to a physio in my opinion is just not acceptable
