"A complete success"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Stockport NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

I had a total knee replacement October 2020, it was to my mind a complete success. After a period of physiotherapy.

I queried 'could I ride my bike?' the answer was yes. I had my covid vaccine jab, in January. While on fresh air exercise I fell off my bike and broke my right side hip. I ended up with a replacement hip and contracted covid whilst in hospital.

My children have confiscated my bike so I am going to get roller skates.

The hospital staff, the ambulance crew another home care physio and aftercare package have been superb. Although  I hope I never see them again.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear about your bike accident. Really pleased to hear that you received such superb care by the teams at Stepping Hill Hospital, but be careful on your roller skates if you don’t want to see everyone again too soon.:)

I will pass on your kind words to the teams as the staff really appreciate hearing such positive feedback.

Kind regards,
