Visited antenatal today for a scan and my partner and I have came away feeling very disheartened. I understand we are in a pandemic however I phoned prior to the scan to ask if my partner was allowed and was told yes. I got called in for my scan the nurse never asked if anyone was with me took me in and told me to get onto the bed... I asked if I could ring my partner to which she said yes..... Tried ringing and he had no signal, she advised this is a slot and if the partners not here in time they just have to go ahead without him! I advised he was here he's just got no signal so how was I supposed to get through to him! I understand scans for most people are a happy time however given our past this was an anxious time for me and I was very nervous.... I tried ringing a few times and eventually got through. Partner was then directed the wrong way but made it eventually..... Once he got in the room he was made to sit at the back of the room miles away from the screen that was facing him and the other screen he could only see the back of! He was told to look over the nurses shoulder at her screen.... He couldn't see anything. We've came away feeling very disheartened and felt like this nurse takes no satisfaction from her job role and felt we were just another slot to her! I'm really disappointed as my 1st scan the nurse was lovely and spent a lot of time trying to get the baby to move. I'm not normally one to complain but this is our 1st child and 1st pregnancy that I have carried this far!
However the hca that carried out my bloods after the scan was lovely, made me feel at ease and was very pleasant and directed me on what to do next and how I would receive the results
