Everything went according to plan and although I was told the procedure would take between 15 and 30 minutes I was actually in theatre for only about 10 minutes. In the minutes and days post operation I was in no pain whatsoever, a bit of occasional tickle the first day and a sense of bruising when looking to the far right and left - and then back to normal. The blood shot appearance cleared completely after three days. (My wife applied the four-a-day eye drops which I would have struggled to do on my own.) That was the only negative aspect of the procedure, having to apply eye drops four times a day for three weeks which would have been very difficult had I not been at home due to Covid.
