I had a really positive experience.
I was initially admitted to the induction ward in RVH to have foley catheter fitted on 12 November 2020, staff there were amazing, the midwives and HCA were fantastic!
Sent home that day and back in that evening as contractions had started so I went back into induction ward, the same staff were on, but again were brilliant, so friendly and calming, could not recommend them enough!
They recommended trying ABC ward (active birth centre) to give birth in a pool which was free that day. So I went around to ABC ward and within the hour gave birth to my son! Best birthing experience I've had by far, with very little medical intervention which was how I wanted.
The midwives on shift at this time on the ABC ward were also amazing, especially during a pandemic, actually I've had the most positive experience of labour and giving birth during the pandemic than any of my other labours and birth. I'm very grateful to be recommended the ABC ward which I didn't know was even in the hospital.
Amazing teams who really do work very hard! Thanks 😊
