"Virtual Visiting Service"

About: Southern Health & Social Care Trust / Virtual Visiting Service

(as a service user),

My Dad has been in and out of hospital since November 2020 and the Virtual Visiting Service has been invaluable to us as a family. 2 of his daughters live outside the Southern Trust and this service would be great to have even if Covid was not an issue. To be able to see daddy on the screen is just such a blessing. The staff who man the phones are always very helpful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the new Virtual Visiting Service in Southern Health and Social Services Trust. We recognise how difficult it is for families at the minute with the restricted visiting guidelines in place due to Covid 19. This new service has been established to try to support families and patients during this time and your story just lets us see how the important the service is. As you say the service allows for families to be connected even outside the Trust which is also so important. We are delighted to hear that you feel that the staff answering the phone are helpful to you.
