I would like to give the Paramedic Practitioner (for some reason, not allowed to mention her name on here) a compliment. On the 15th of February we back her up to an 83 year old with abdo pain (we're an ambulance crew). She remained on scene and her handover was excellent; it was professional, clear and concise. She didn't just write down a basic set of observations, she was efficient and proactive by doing other assessments to rule things out, which means we are not delaying time on scene doing this overselves. It also maintains the patient's dignity since we are not repeating assessments that can be personal/intrusive to the patient. Another highlight was that she wrote everything down on paper - there have been many times where we have attended a patient who has already seen by a HCP prior to the crew's arrival but there have been no notes so we have no idea as to what the presenting complaint is and why a patient requires hospital attendence. The ED staff appreciated these notes too as they are a great point of reference once the crew have handed over.
"Great Paramedic Practitioner"
