About: Woodlands Park Health Ctr

Every GP practice in the U.K. is under immense pressure which existed even before the Covid 19 pandemic, with chronic underfunding and understaffing. However, I have recently been very unwell for the last two months and I feel the clerical, medical and nursing staff here have gone above and beyond trying to help me when it has been needed. I am normally a fit and healthy person so my dependence on healthcare of late has been a shock.

Sometimes my calls have got cut off and I’ve not always been entirely happy with communication in the past, but they have been more than willing to engage and look at ways of improvement rather than outright dismissal.

In comparison with some hospital staff I have seen of late, they have also been much more thorough, holistic, empathetic, caring and compassionate.

No system under the NHS, which is free at the point of service to all of us, can be entirely perfect and fulfil every single person’s needs exactly as they expect to be met and nor should they realistically speaking. In a battered and bruised real World, I think this practice is overall providing an excellent service.
