"Counselling therapy"

Counselling therapy has changed my life. I had been wanting to go therapy for years but I thought it was embarrassing. After attending therapy I can say i wish i did this years ago.  Ian was so easy to talk to, he gave me lots of skills to help my anxiety and low moments, all of which worked for me. I was able to be me during the sessions, Ian was really supportive and understanding. I feel so much more lighter, free and confident. Every session felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulder. I came to so many realisations during my sessions .

Dear Elizaroses,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Inclusion Thurrock. I am sure your story will help so many other people who may be considering therapy but are hesitant about starting.

I think you make a very important point when you say you thought that going to therapy was embarrassing. Often people do have preconceptions about what therapy is and what it involves and some of these beliefs may stop us from accessing therapy services when we need them. However, I am so pleased that you decided to take that leap and try counselling, it sounds as though you have taken so much from it. It is not uncommon for clients to be nervous or hesitant about trying therapy but we hope to make every client very comfortable and safe during their time with us. This is also a key reason as to why we offer our 3 week 'Time for Change' course for clients to attend whilst waiting for their therapy appointments. Within this course, we aim to show people what therapy really involves so everyone knows what to expect before they begin sessions and hopefully, this helps clients like yourself who may have had beliefs about therapy beforehand.

I am very pleased to hear that you connected so well with your therapist, I am sure Ian will be extremely happy to read your message. It sounds as though you have not only learnt various techniques that you can take away with you but that you have also learnt a lot about yourself as a person. The important part now is to continue using everything that you have learnt within your therapy in order to continue progressing and achieving future goals that you may have.
