I'm now getting good care for my mental health from Dr Kuklewicz. She is a very good and so are all the nurses and everyone, they are doing a marvellous job.
For 30 years I was on the same medication, via injection, and in all that time I only seen a psychiatrist once. I'm going back to maybe 1980, I was with the same GP. Not a mental health professional or specialist, just an ordinary GP. No feedback, no review, no nothing. When I questioned whether the injections were making me worse, and I said I'd like to come off them, they said I couldn't, there was nothing we could do. I listened to them, they were the GP and I was the patient, they were supposed to know best. I don't think I was treated properly or fairly. I then moved and changed GP, looking back the hospital now tells me I sort of slipped through the cracks. Just one of those things I suppose.
They then told me they had stopped making the injection, told me they couldn't get it anymore, and took me off it - it landed me in a mental hospital because the tablets they gave me to replace didn't suit.
Now this psychiatrist is marvellous, you couldn't ask for better care. Due to the new psychiatrist and the nurses, I'm doing better than ever. Everyone does everything they possibly can for me. I'm just disappointed that I lost 30 years of my life
