"Awful abusive and rude staff "

About: St Helier Hospital

I have never felt so belittled by any staff member of any place I have had the displeasure if visiting. I was shouted at by 2 nurses here this evening. I came into A&E as a guardian of a minor for treatment. I was immediately singled out from the moment I walked in. I am exempt from wearing a mask and your nurse shouted at me in front of a whole room full of people. I am disabled and your nurses at your trust demanded to see my medical record and proof I was disabled. This is illegal to start, hurtful, and prejudice. I feel personally discriminated and bewildered and would not have the confidence to come back here without the fear of more abuse.

A police officer was called by your nurse as apparently defending my right wasn’t taken kindly. He kindly asked for my exemption proof and I was happy to show him my lengthy medical records including diagnosis. I am autoimmune and suffer with hyperthyroidism and hypertension. Wearing a mask causes breathing issues and I cannot have pressure on my neck or chin due to goitres.

I am appalled and felt ashamed and pressured to tell the whole room of my personal health issues.

If the police have told you I am exempt, why on earth was I targeted further.

Your staff are BULLIES. they bullied me into submission and called me facetious. That is disgusting behaviour and not acceptable.

I want a full apology and to hear they will now respect people illnesses, it’s a hospital for crying out loud. I hope I am never unfortunate enough to be taken here.
