At 2 am 2nd February 2021 I arrived by ambulance blue lights with 2 female param. I had fallen backwards from top to bottom of the stairs crashing into a glass unit sustain sever external injuries to head and side needed 3 units of blood. From the moment the paramedics arrived I felt I was being looked after by conpetent experienced people.
I remember the handover to the A&E department from then on I was hooked up to various drips had a ct scan blood pressure wa very low abd the woumds were bleeding profusely. At all times people were talking to me explaining what was happening and how bad the injuries were. I stayed in rhesus till lunchtime Friday while it was decided how they would go forward with the surgery because e needed a general surgeon for the inhury to my side and Maxilofacial team for my head. It was discussed then decided they would get the teams together and they would do the cleaning and stitching of the wound under general anaesthetic later.
I was so will cared for everybody involved did their best to reassure me I would be ok.
I am so very very grateful to each and everyone who was involved in any of my care and treatment.
On the ward I have also been very well looked after Monday today I have had my drains removed and I am allowed home. Thank you so much you amazing NHS and I am so very proud of you all and thank you for saving my life
