I have suffered from depression since I was a child due to abuse. I have attempted suicide 3 times, the last time was about 10 years ago and was admitted overnight to antrim area hospital. I am on meds and waiting to see my practice therapist
I self harm, and have done so recently. I contacted my gp and she said she would refer me to the cmht.
I was relieved as I have had very little help for my mh and have had to do research myself. I seem to exhibit the symptoms of bpd and was hoping to get a formal diagnosis and the correct meds and treatment at last.
Unfortunately I received a response from Loughview Resource Centre telling me they are referring me to some online courses for anxiety.
I am devastated. I have had no formal assessment or diagnosis and am being passed over again. This has affected me deeply and in no way is going to be a help to my existing mh situation. I thought the health service was supposed to care, instead a person who self harms and has suicidal thoughts is told to do some online courses
